I love My Son More Than Cheese. (Repeat that three times daily!)

Last night my Jordy and I went out to dinner and he suggested a little Sushi joint we used to go to when we were first married, but I was craving Mexican so we went to El Charo instead. I couldn't resist the sour cream enchiladas on the menu and as the server placed my meal down, I took one look at the cheese oozing out of the enchilada and told Jordan, "Poor Skyler is going to pay for this one." True to my words, my poor son has been barfing up curdled milk all day (including all over his daddy's nice suit at church) and really, I am the one who is paying, because I now have a little baby who can't sleep because he's trying to deal with spicy, cheesy enchilada milk. I've never realized how much cheese I eat until I feel the need to give up the stuff ... dang, it's hard!

Canning

Jordan and I bought our year's supply a couple of years ago in bulk, and have quickly learned that the small cans are much more practical. Today we finally finished canning our entire year's supply...Hooray! (It was a lot of work)

Thais was an awesome helper pouring the wheat into the cans for us!

She even got to help Jordan push the button.
And on a seperate note, per Janette's request, here is a picture of Skyler facing forward so you can see how much he's changed. I still can't get over the red hair...Love it!

My two little love bugs

Highlights of December

I actually can't post very many Christmas picture's because our Camera died and my sister in law is going to send me a CD of pictures she took for us. But here are a few...

Jared and Nicole hosted an awesome Ugly Sweater Christmas party! It was really fun to see all of our friends dressed up like nerds. I also have to give our elephant exchange the award for the most random. Some of my favorites were the gerbil given to Renee (as pictured below) and the Calendar of all the boys at the party (I blew up Jordan's picture really big for everybody's enjoyment...or mainly just mine!)

Thaisee bug decorated a ginger bread house that we received from our Secret Family.

Getting to see Aunt Abby, who just returned from her mission, was a huge highlight of our Christmas!

My Mother and Father in law planned so many fun things for us to do while home for Christmas. This is the gang out for breakfast.

On Christmas Eve we went over to Grandma Allred's for an amazing breakfast, and then she read an adorable Christmas story to all of the grand kids. Afterwards she spoiled them all with presents..It was really fun!

Nana put together a Pinata for all of the Kids..They LOVED it!

Poor Kid! You're going to have to get used to this!

I walked out into the living room the other day, and saw that Thais had been playing dress-up with her brother. This is only the beginning little boy...My sister and I used to put full on dresses on our little brother.

Shopping With Two

For those of you who haven't read this book, you must it's awesome, and reminds me of my day yesterday. I have at last attempted my very first shopping trip with Two Kids. For those of you with more than two kids, I probably sound like a nerd, but I have been dreading taking both the kids out on a long trip. For those Trader Joes fans out there, you know it is not exactly a great store for kids. It's always crammed full of people, many from the geriatric community, and they give the crustiest looks every time your kid, or you for that matter, get in their way. So this post is to tell you all that we survived. Thais only ran out of the store twice while I was checking out. Skyler kept his sweet cries down to a level that didn't raise too many crusty looks from my elderly friends, I didn't raise my voice even once, and I only ended up spending about 10 bucks extra for the little items that Thais threw in my cart while I wasn't looking. All in all it was a pretty successful day and I totally feel like more of a woman for having conquered it!

New Years Resolution Revisited

One of my resolutions from 2008 was to become a better blogger. With all of the craziness of kids and life, it's the best way for me to keep a journal of our family. So, in lieu of that goal, I am finally going to catch up on November....

Thanksgiving:

My mom came to visit! She was incredibly wonderful cleaning my house and taking care of me. She even gave me and Jordan foot rubs. Thanks Mom...I love you!!

Our friends Jenn and Tim, graciously invited us over for Thanksgiving dinner. Jenn put on an amazing spread and her table was really beautiful!

Tyler and Thais making Thanksgiving Hats/Indian Headdresses

Jay was my big helper!

Sklyer-boy all dressed up for Thanksgiving! Lookin' good buddy!
