The Dark Knight was dark (go figure)

I'll start of by giving points to this movie by saying that I did end up staying awake through the whole thing, so that either means it was highly entertaining or I was terrified to fall asleep during the movie and dream of Joker cunningly using "pencil" tricks on me (you have to see that movie to appreciate that one). I thought Heath ledger's performance was flawless. I find that when you truly despise a character in a movie then the actor has done a remarkable and very believable job. That being said, the movie was too dark for me.. It was significantly darker than Batman Begins and I found myself wishing that the movie would just end. Most of my favorite movies are not happy, feel good shows (Last of the Mohicans and Legends of the Fall to name a few) but I've found that after becoming a mother (especially when I'm pregnant) I can't handle the violent and the disturbing. Jordan and I watched Hotel Rawanda when I was pregnant with Thais and I think I bawled for like two hours afterward. Poor Jordan! I wasn't the best person to see this movie with (he said most of the time he looked at me I wouldn't even be looking at the screen). I think he would have had more fun going with a bunch of guys who would appreciate that darn pencil scene. I don't think I will be watching this again anytime soon!

The Dark Knight...Tonight!

Jordan is so stinkin' excited to see this movie tonight he can hardly stand it. We hung out with my cousin Kelti and her husband Bobby, and Bobby said it was, "three hours of awesomeness!" Jordan of course got totally animated and that was all he could talk about on the way home! We are going to catch a later show so I will be able to tell if it's good if I can actually stay awake the entire three hours...Usually I pay nine bucks for a good snooze!

Utah Trip

We just got back from a wonderful trip to Utah a few days ago and here are some highlights from our trip!

Tyler and Cathy just happened to be in Utah the same weekend as us, so we got the chance to spend a few hours catching up. We went to Cafe Rio (always amazing) and then went to a park to play with Thais. They surprised us and bought our baby his first pair of Jordan's (Jordan was thrilled) and Thais had so much fun playing with her uncle T-dogg at the park. Tyler and Cathy we love you and hope we see you before our next kid turns two!

We stayed our first night in Utah at Grandma and Grandpa's. Thais's favorite activity was watering Grandma's plants...over and over and over again (hopefully they are still alive...sorry Grandma)

Mele, Neveah, Peni, and Thais lookin' festive for the 4th.

This was the family float in the Plain City parade. Thais wasn't very happy to be on it at first, and then she noted the buckets of candy on board and decided the float was pretty cool!

How cute is this picture? Thais was so excited to see her uncle David!!

I broke down and bought the leash for Lagoon. It was pretty much a life saver I have to say!

The highlight of Lagoon was watching Thais have so much fun on the rides! I remember as a kid thinking that Lagoon was the most amazing place on earth (I obviously didn't get out much) but seriously, Lagoon was pretty cool! There are a ton of new rides and Thais had a blast with her cousins.

Calvin's blessing was definitely one of the highlights of the trip. We love him so much already and It was neat to know what a special boy he is!

Our last couple of days in Utah we got to stay up at the cabin. Here is Rylynn, Thais and Carter eating Nana's scrumptious enchiladas!

We celebrated Papa's birthday the day we got to the cabin. The kid's were more than happy to help Papa blow out all the MANY, MANY candles (just kidding Papa)

Girls Camp!

I almost didn't get to go to girls camp because they originally had a NO PREGGERS ALLOWED rule, but luckily they changed it and I had a blast! We had such a fun group of girls this year. They are all such individuals and I got a kick out of their crazy personalities. Nothing like a week of all girls stinkin' it up (literally) in the woods.

These are my fellow leaders, Deanna and Vangi. I grew to love them so much! We had fun laughing with our girls and chatting it up late in our tent.

Halle, Caitlyn, and Lara lee striking a pose!

Tawsha and Robyn just before their big hike.

Danielley (as I call her), Jesse, and Kyla ready for the 4th year hike!

D and D. I just love this girl!

MEXICO TRIP

Last month we got to go on our annual trip to Mexico. This year it was Puerto Vallarta and it was awesome! It's always really fun to have the cousins get together and spend a week relaxing in the sunshine. We made some really fun memories and here are the pictures to prove it :O)

This is a picture of the statues that we saw in the main entrance of the resort we stayed in. It's a pretty spectacular sight! Thais loved the entrance because they played tribal music and she would say, "dance, dance" and then run around the statues for as long as we would let her.

Classic pool shot. Lookin' good Thaisee Bug :O)

I've never seen pineapple growing in the wild before. It was pretty cool looking so I took a picture!

The kiddo's favorite game was "restaurant," which basically consisted of eating out on the patio while the adults serve yummy things to eat (can't say that I blame them.) How darling are my little Nieces!!!

All of the girls at our "girls day out." We got to go shopping in town, eat wonderful food, and return to the resort for a spa day. It really was as good as it sounds :O)

Marianne was in charge of the Sand Castle Contest. Thais' castle was awesome (with just a little help from daddy!)

For my activity, I had the kids decorate sand pails for the Sand Castle Contest. There's nothing better than playing with stickers..it was a hit!

Thais wearing the dress Grandpa bought her when he went to Mexico. It was perfect for our trip...Thanks Grandpa!

A family shot on our last day. We all wore family reunion shirts that said, "Monsons Rock!" Thank you Nana..they were adorable!

More Random Pictures

I haven't posted new picture's in a while because we lost our USB cord :O(

Thais sleeps in a big girl bed now. She started climbing out of her crib several months before she turned two and was so excited to have a new bed. Thank you Nana for the beautiful bedding!

Jordan and I got to have our darling nieces stay with us for a few weeks while Jenna was in the hospital. Thais still talks about them and she can't wait to see them in a few days!

We found out what we're having today!

Out on the ocean sailing away,
I can hardly wait,
To see you to come of age,
But I guess we'll both,
Just have to be patient,
Yes it's a long way to go,
But in the meantime,

Before you cross the street,
Take my hand,
Life is just what happens to you,
While your busy making other plans,

Beautiful,
Beautiful, beautiful,
Beautiful Boy,
- John Lennon

It's official: We are having a boy! The ultra sound was a really cool experience, at one point he held his hand up to the camera and Thais went up to the screen and gave him a high-five. She was really excited about the whole experience and Jordan and I just couldn't hold back the tears. I can't wait for my beautiful boy!
