**GYMNASTICS**

We FINALLY decided to put Thais in gymnastics. Look she even has the pose down :O)

This picture is a bit random, but I have to explain Thais's favorite pass time. The girl is a social butterfly. I happened to have my camera with me as I was unloading groceries and this is Thais just chatting it up with the car next to us. I don't know if you can tell in this picture, but the guy in the passenger seat could not stop laughing while Thais was saying, "Hi, what's your name? What are you doing? What's in your bag? Why do you have a flower in your car?" It's pretty funny to see all of this personality coming out of this little girl.

Who says shopping is boring when you're three?

I've spent a lot of time at the Children's Place this week. At one point, I couldn't find Thais and went looking for her, only to find her happily playing dress up with a new friend.

Check out Thaisy styling in her new threads. She said she wanted the glasses so she could look like "Ancy Ancy," aka Fancy Nancy.

My mom and dad came out for a visit, b/c my dad had a business trip in Texas. Here we are feeding the ducks with Thais. You've gotta love mom's nemo blanky skirt! I love you mom.

This has been a summer of Skyler experiencing different foods for the first time. Watermelon is his new favorite.

Here he is with his first nectarine. I'm not sure if more of this thing got in his mouth or on his car seat. Look at those baby blues!

I met a cute girl at the temple who invited us to play with her little girl the same age as Thais. As an added bonus, Thais got to ride a pony and hold baby chicks.

The Story of Thais and her Turtle

One day as a surprise, Thais's daddy and Grandpa (who was visiting Texas for the weekend) decided to bring her home a stray turtle they found on the side of the road. Thais was a big fan of her turtle and named him Thomas.

Thomas, on the other hand, was not such a big fan of little girls (note the bandaged finger)



So Thais (after much coercing by her Mama) decided to do the right thing and let Thomas go free! The End :O)

** As a side story, today we were in Costco and there was a lady with a cast on and Thais went up to her and said, "Hey what happened to your hand?" The lady responded that she had hurt it, to which Thais replied, "Oh! The turtle bit you!" The lady looked at her a little puzzled but I just let Thais believe that the Turtle has another victim out there, so she won't be asking for another turtle any time soon! I'm still thinking gold fish are the way to go...

Birthday Boy

I think one of the things I like best about Jordan's birthday is that it marks the period of two very short months where we actually get to be the same age (and I'm not the older woman.) So here's to 28 honey!!

Already six months old!

My friend Chelsey agreed to take some pictures of Skyler for me. We decided to face the crazy Dallas humidity and went over to the SMU campus to get some shots. Didn't she do a great job?!!! I can't believe how big my boy is getting; he crawls, pulls himself up on furniture, and he and Thais are becoming the best of friends because they can actually play and laugh together. Skylee boy it's been a wonderful six months having you in our little family :O)

My Child is Learning Faith

I had to quickly write this story down before I forget any of the details. Today Thais had to have a little time-out in her room, and while in her room she locked her door from the inside. I went to the door to tell her that she could come out, and she told be that she couldn't get the door unlocked. I sat there and coached her for a while, but apparently these locks are much trickier than the ones at home, and she couldn't get it unlocked. I spent 5 or 10 minutes searching the apartment and there wasn't anything I could use to get the door open. Finally I went to the door (Thais was bawling at this point) and put my fingers under the door and said, "Thais if we are going to get the door open we are going to have to say a prayer!" She said okay, and we held hands on opposite sides of the door and said a prayer together. After we were done, I told Thais I knew she could do it. She tried turning it once and said, "mama, it's not working!" I told her it would work because we said a prayer! Finally, she tried again, and the door opened right up. We prayed again and Thais said, "Heavenly Father thank you I can open the door and I can do it!" Stories like this make my heart happy because that is exactly how faith is built. I have learned that God is in the tiny details of our lives, even when we just need to open a door.

I should clarify the title of this post and say livin is easy for just me and the kiddo's. We swim all day while Jordan, on the other hand, sweats his bootie off in the Dallas heat, knockin' doors 7-8 hrs per day. Thanks honey, we love you!

Just some random pictures

Thais and Skylee boy decided to have apples as a snack today. I love Skyler's lips in this picture, they look ginormous. He was totally lovin' that apple!


Any place we go, if Thais spots a dog, she immediately races over and wants to love that doggy all she can. I think she played with like three different dogs at the park today. Her love for them always tempts me to get her a puppy, but then I think of dog hair all over our house and I always change my mind. Is that mean or what!?! We just didn't grow up with animals, so I don't appreciate the joy in a pet. Too bad goldfish weren't more lovable!

I just had to post this picture and fondly speak about my daughter for a minute. I am completely fascinated by this little person, who has more personality than she knows what to do with. She defines the word social, and I often watch in awe as we go places, and by the end of our stay almost everyone there knows her name. Today, at the park she was just working it, getting to know everyone around her. These girls were playing on the tire swing and she went up to them and said, "Hi, can I play with you?" At first, they responded by saying that they go too fast and she wouldn't be able to do it. Thais quickly responded by saying, "I do it! I Can do it!" So, one of the girls suggested that they let her play. Thais was in heaven being allowed to play with the older girls, and by the end she had them playing all over the park with her loving every minute of it. Grocery stores, are a huge social event for her as she visits with everyone in line. Yesterday she turned to an old lady in front of us and said, "Hey Grandma, are you going home to you Grandpa?" Or the other day when we were riding the train she turned to the woman sitting by us and said, "Soo, how's in going?" The woman just looked at her kind of amazed that this little person was talking to her like an adult and they proceeded to have this great conversation! The amazing thing is how quickly she engages people and gets them talking to her like she is their long lost friend. I admire that quality so much! There are so many people I would like to get to know better and lack the fearless and friendly nature of my daughter to make that happen. Her baby blessing talks of how completely loved people will feel around Thais, and at three years old I am already witnessing her little spirit at work. She is teaching me about how I want to be, and I totally look up to this little girl!
